Serving Tiverton for over 500 years

Welcome to the Tiverton Almshouse Trust. Here at the Trust, we pride ourselves in providing high-quality homes for local older people in need.

We have 83 beautiful almshouses located across two main warden-supported sites in Tiverton with a third (non-warden support) site quietly situated in St Peter Street, housing just 3 properties.

  • Greenway Gardens, King Street.
  • John Greenway Close, Gold Street.
  • Slees, Angel Terrace, St Peter Street

Our aim is to provide safe and secure homes to independent older people, as well as encourage our residents to live full and active lives within their supportive community.

As well as providing residential accommodation, the Trust also has two 16th Century Chapels, one on each site and several commercial properties within the town including shops, offices and flats available to let on short-hold assured tenancies.

We are regulated by the Charity Commission and Homes England as a registered social landlord . We are also members of the Almshouse Association, a support charity representing over 1600 independent almshouse charities across the UK.

We hope you can find everything you need to know here and enjoy learning more about us as a Trust and how we aspire to give back to the community of Tiverton.
