Our Community
Our community is the heart and soul of what we do at the Trust and why we do it. Seeing our residents having fun brings us such happiness and we like to encourage residents to enjoy living their independent lives.
Our commitment to our residents is paid off at the Trust when we can see our residents really enjoying where they live. We like to help celebrate special occasions on our sites by providing regular events. Our resident wardens work hard to achieve this and a list of activities over the last year have included:
Bingo | Chair exercises to music | Fun mind games |
Coffee mornings | Knit and natter | VE Day celebrations |
Picnic lunches, fish and chips & pasty lunches | Book, magazine and jigsaw clubs | Pen-pal writing with local primary school |
If there is an occasion that’s worth celebrating, you can be sure that the wardens and residents will be eager to do so, from Valentine’s Day, Christmas and Easter activities to Royal celebrations and a ‘day at the races’. If it is something that interests you, there is always something to look forward to as a resident.
Our residents are firm believers that sharing is caring and they show this often by leaving produce from their home-grown fruit, veg and plants for others to enjoy.
Please see our gallery for pictures of our events.
At the Tiverton Almshouse Trust, our grounds are quietly tucked behind the busy streets of Tiverton. Although we have a part-time gardener to tend to our beautiful grounds, the residents also like to contribute and take pleasure in helping make the communal gardens look as remarkable as they are. They have received recognition for this several times from Tiverton in Bloom as well as South West in Bloom which is a wonderful and well-deserved achievement.
